Desriador

Once the proud city of Kings called Sochester sat upon the fertile banks of the Saxenflow, near to Lake Lakunay. Then came the Sky Tyrants and their Sky Fortress that floated above Sochester for nearly 200 years before the Fall. The city that has been reborn upon the ruins of Sochester and the fallen Sky Keep is called Desriador, the old Cathemerean for vale of desolation.
Desriador is a city of hidden parts. The surface city, with towers and keeps newly built upon the stony ruins, is the preserve of the Dragonborn clans and their allies. The under city, lost in the warrens of old Sochester beneath the earth, is home to human, dwarf and other races who sought sanctuary under the protection of the Dragonborn clans. The Law of the Seven or the Law of the Talons is the rule establishing the dominion of the Dragonborn clans, and imposes harsh restrictions on those not of the clans.

Despite the tyranny of the Dragonborn, Desriador has become an important city on the trade routes between north and south. Farming has returned to the valley of Sochester under the protection of the Seven Clawed flag of Desriador. Many still seek lost treasures and ancient lore beneath the undercity, braving the chaotic warrens and criminal underbelly of the city in the hopes of earning fame and fortune.
